This is a very good quality pair of antique serpentine French Louis XV1 revival cherry wood bedside cabinets, circa 1920.

This is a very good quality pair of antique serpentine French Louis XV1 revival cherry wood bedside cabinets, circa 1920, designed in the style of the Louis XV1 period. They each have serpentine gallery tops with carry handles. Below, there are three useful working drawers. The drawers are oak lined and feature a dovetail construction with the original studded brass knobs. The fronts of the cabinets boast a lovely serpentine shape the chests sit on elegant cabriole legs. The frames of the bedsides feature a very elegant shape frieze and the sides of the chest have vertical scroll carvings. The sides of the cabinets feature lovely figured inset side panels. These bedsides chests boast the classic French chateau styling that you see in antique furniture of this period.
These bedsides are in excellent original condition and this is what gives them their lovely patination and colour, which has been generated by the years of cleaning and care they have received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the living room or bedroom. This item would certainly grace any home and a great investment, as they are an extremely functional. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.

Condition These bedside cabinets are in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. Importantly, the bedsides tops are free of watermarks and ink stains. The oak lined dovetailed drawers are smooth running and close flush to the frame. The brass knobs are original. The cabinets stand firm on the ground and do not wobble. Free of woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.
