Here is a good quality pair of antique Victorian mahogany bedside chests, circa 1890.

Here is a good quality pair of antique Victorian mahogany bedside chests, circa 1890. They each have four working drawers with hand-dovetailed joints, mahogany drawer linings and finely turned mahogany knobs. The drawers lining feature quartered beading to the drawer frames. Each bedside chest boasts traditional square cornered moulded tops, with a nice overhang. The bedsides sit on the original square plinths. Both chests are constructed of top quality solid mahogany timber the drawer fronts are finished with a good mahogany patination. The quality is reflected in the weight of these bedsides they are heavy to lift! During this period, England was imported top quality timber from its colonies.
The bedsides feature a rich, yet classic, brown mahogany colour. They have a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
These chests would look superb in a variety of rooms from the living room to the bedroom. These chests would certainly grace any home and are a great investment as they are extremely functional. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.
Condition Report
These adapted bedside chests are in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There are no cup marks, ink stains or other types of marks to the tops of the bedsides.The drawers are smooth running and close flush to the frame. The drawers are mahogany lined and hand dovetailed, which is a sign of superb quality. These bedsides are constructed of top quality mahogany the quality of this mahogany gives a superb colour and patination. The quality is also reflected in the weight of these bedsides they are heavy to lift! They are solid in joint and ready to use.
