Matching pair of antique mahogany chests with serpentine shaped fronts, brass handles & splayed feet. It's quite rare to find a pair of chests this size & I think they have been reconstructed or adapted some time ago from some other antique furniture. There is a very slight difference in height, but not noticeable when they are apart from each other. It's hard to estimate the age, because like I said they have probably been adapted from something else old, however the wood used could well be 18th century. the backs are old pine. These chests are in great condition.
