A very smart pair of Japanese vases decorated in the Kutani pallette to a very high standard. These are decorated as a true pair where the decoration faces and compliments one vase to the other. On one vase a seated gentleman appears to be handing a scroll to a young assistant who on the other vase is reading the scroll to him. Verso we see a pair of stags. On one vase the stag is eating from a tree while from the other the stag appears to be watching him. Between the decorative cartouches there are organic and geometric patterns enhanced with gilding.

The vases are signed underneath and at 30 cms a very decorative height and in good condition. Currently my internet shop is closed for holidays. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
