Pair of Japanese Meiji period Satsuma ware vases c.1900. Standing 12″ tall and densely decorated with hand painted scenes of traditional Japanese buildings amongst a landscape of mountains, waterfalls and trees full of cherry blossom. Overlaid with fine gilt decoration against a cream porcelain ground. With a mark to the underside. Very good condition with only minor wear to the gilt and a very small chip to the underside of one vase.
