A very decorative pair of antique Victorian balloon back chairs in walnut. They have a shaped top rails which are decorated with inlay and stringing enclosing panels of burr walnut. The front and side rails are also decorated with stringing along wth the turned legs. The seats have been newly recovered over the existing upholstery in a cream brocade with a pattern of swirls embroidered in a gold colour. A very attractive pair of high quality chairs with lovely burr walnut inlay and extensive stringing decoration.
Construction/Wood
Walnut.
Condition Report
Some slight give to the frames. Wear and marks commensurate with age. Newly recovered with new fabric over the existing upholstery which is firm and sound. Some worm holes to the seat rails which have been treated with worm killer as a precaution and filled with wax.
