Oriental carved and laquered two fold screen. This beautiful screen comprises of two panels, each richly decorated with carved birds, branches, foliage etc in relief along with mother of pearl detail on a black ground with red and gold painted border, the back of each panel is decorated with trees etc, painted in black on a dark red ground. The frame itself is intricately carved with birds and flowers. One small carved bird and minor bits of branch/foliage are missing and some damage to the reverse of the panels but none of this detracts from the beauty of the screen itself, it really is stunning and the photos do not do it justice.
