This is a charming oil painting in giltwood frame of a young boy on a beach, dating from the late 19th century. The boy is captured in his very smart checked suit and straw boater, with contrasting crimson belt and stockings, with spade for digging.

Quite a handsome young gentleman, his backdrop is the choppy sea, the beach and islands in the background.

The portrait is beautifully executed and is presented in a quality gilt wood Kent type frame with gilt arched mount.

It measures 45 cms by 38 cms including the frame and was originally framed by J D Spence of Dublin.
