A larger than usual Tunbridge Ware octagonal jar / box.
Circa 1880, it measures approx 11 cm (4.3 inches) high, by 9 cm (3.5 inches) diameter (at lid).
There is an internal cylindrical compartment within the jar.
Not 100% sure what the purpose of this was for, possibly sewing, possibly a wax seal, much larger than the go to bed version.
The 8 sides are in excellent condition, with floral decoration. As cab be seen, there is wear to the lid, and slight loss to the finial.
The lid pushes on (not screwed), the finial can be unscrewed.
A rare piece being this size.
