The subject is a gamekeeper resting against a 'skeyne' of hay, after the shoot. Accompanied by his with his spaniels, the guns, partidges and rabbits.
Nora Drummond (1862 - 1949)
Born in Bath, Somerset, England in 1862.
Her father was Master of the Bath School of Art and Design and an art tutor to the Royal Family, and her mother the daughter of the artist James Hardy (1801-1879).
In 1893 Drummond married Daniel Joseph Davies, and shortly after the turn of the century the couple emigrated to Canada.
