Needlework Sampler Dated 1886. needlework sampler %%alt5%%
An interesting needlework sampler dated 1886 by Maria Moadoa. The surname has its origins in Spain. Colours are still extremely vivid and clear. Condition : only just visible in the frame on the left side is is small holes where it was previously nailed to a board or frame. On the bottom right there is evidence if staining and on the right hand bird the colour of the thread has bled slightly into the background, probably from getting damp at some stage since its construction. The gold leaf frame is rubbed down to the gesso in many areas but has a very good patina and I would not recommend replacing or even restoring. Dimensions in cm's : width:44 x height:50.5 Returns

Antique furniture is old and we have done our best to describe any major faults. The buyer should expect imperfections such as shrinkage cracks/gaps, slight warping, repairs to structure and veneers, extinct woodworm holes and surface wear/marks/repairs that are consistent with age. These features are to be expected on genuine antiques and add to their character and historical honesty. It is quite usual also for handles, drawer bottoms/runners, feet and other component parts to be worn or replaced over the years. Unless otherwise stated there is unlikely to be a key and the locks may or may not exist/work. Please contact us before buying and we will send additional photos and do our best to describe the item honestly. Even better you are welcome to come and view the item before buying. Just get in contact to make an appointment.
