Circa 1870, mid Victorian carved and gilded nursing chair/pre-dieu chair of unusual proportions. The cross like form has gilded frame which is carved with a stylised continuous wave beading. Below the seat is a deep apron again with same carved pattern and carved flower heads on all the corners. All standing on four elegant turned, fluted and tapering legs finishing on brass cups and white porcelain castors. Good colour and patination. Underneath retains the original webbing.

Size 100cm high x 48.5cm wide x 59cm deep.
