Japanese Meiji period signed jardiniere or bowl c1900. The jardiniere is of squat bulbous form with characteristic iron-red and monochrome decoration, highlighted in gold. Hand painted panels of floral and foliate decoration and an interior with figures. Geometric bands at its foot and rim. Painted marks to its base including the Kutani characters (九谷).

Size: 5 1/4” tall x 8 1/2” in diameter at widest
weight before packing: 1350g
Condition is excellent, no chips, cracks or restoration. Surface indentation from manufacture by markings to base
