Liberty & Co. Pearl Inlaid Side Table c.1910
Lovely little Moorish style 'Turkish Table' as retailed by Liberty & Co. of London in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Octagonal top with a mahogany veneered centre surrounded by bands of stained sandal wood with decorative inlay and mother of pearl. Stained base with chequerboard pearl panels to each side over an pointed Islamic arch cutaway to form the feet and with contrasting inlays at the corners. Some repairs to the veneers, generally very good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
A very similar table is illustrated on page 30 of Liberty's Furniture 1875-1915 The Birth of Modern Interior Design by Daryl Bennet.
