A late Victorian solid oak writing desk having the original tooled skiver to the top, over an arrangement of nine drawers graduating in size on either side, fitted with the original brass cup handles and decorative escutcheons.
The desk can be placed as a stand alone in the middle of a room as the sides and back are panelled.
A very useable desk in good condition, well configured oak, all the drawers run well, locks present but no key.
The top and plinth can easily be removed to fit through a door frame if required.

I don't buy any items that need major restoration, but any loose joints are re-glued. Occasionally, some items may have small amounts of historic extinct woodworm, never enough to affect the integrity of the item, and is always treated as a matter of course. We try to describe and show our items the best we can, and we use studio lighting which sometimes lightens the colour slightly on some of the furniture. All lamps are rewired and PAT tested. Every item we sell we would have in our home (some of them have been!!) It is impossible to describe every item fully, so please feel free to email or call for more information or any queries you may have. The items will have no major defects but will show signs of normal age related wear and use. I would prefer the items to show its life rather than strip it and re-polish it, as it's only original once!
