Circa 1830, late George IV two tread library steps. The top tread is hinged and opens to reveal a small compartment. Both steps have red leather which is tooled and gilded. The whole piece stands on 4 elegant mahogany turned legs which have ebonised polished rings. Very simple and elegant.
