Large Victorian Burr Walnut Wardrobe
This is a beautiful and spacious Victorian inverse breakfront mirror door wardrobe in figured burr walnut.
It has a moulded cornice and plain frieze above two full length arched mirror doors with two further short doors with drawers below. The whole piece stands on a plinth base. All the door and drawers have locks and brass escutcheons with the name 'Cluse & Bose' stamped on the centre door lock. There is no key however the two main doors have twist-to-open handles.
The mirrors have no breaks or cracks but do have bands of misting . The side doors each open to reveal a full length hanging section with a brass rail and ten turned wooden hooks (two are missing from the left side). In addition the left side has a shoe box with lift up lid to the base and the right has a deep drawer with wooden handle.
The two arched panelled centre doors enclose a cupboard with a removeable shelf and six long graduated drawers with turned knob handles are beneath.
It is in very good condition. There are some nibbles to the veneer on the cornice (mainly the top right side) and also a bubble. In addition the polish is dead in places on the side.
Overall this an attractive roomy wardrobe offering plenty of storage for now and many years to come.
