Large Staffordshire Cow & Calf Spill Vase
Charming large Staffordshire flat back spill vase as a russet and white cow and her suckling calf. Set on a tall shaped base, naturalistically painted with grassy tussocks and with a little stream running to one side. The spill holder is decorated as a tree trunk. A gilded band around the base and her horns are also gilded. The rear is undecorated.
It measures 11 1/4" high and 8" by 4 3/4" wide. Condition is very good with no damage or restoration there are a couple of small paint flake losses, some fading of the russet inside the spill holder rim and some wear to the gilding. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
