This is a superb Japanese Satsuma ware bowl stunningly hand painted by the talented artist and signed to the base Koshida. The bowl is in perfect condition with delightful bold colours and beautiful detail. The trees and blossom are in beautiful pastel shades and the artist has painted the scene with a perspective that leads the eye from the birds and treetops down to the flowing river that cleverly runs to the inside edge of the bowl. The condition is pristine with no wear to the hand painted detail or indeed the gilding around the rim. The bowl dates from the late 19th century, circa 1890 and is a good size measuring 21 cms diameter by 8 cms in height
