Large Folk Art Painted Chest

An attractive piece originally hand painted but now much of the painted decoration has faded with use and age

On the front there are 3 moulded panels the centre of which has the old lock plate and key, the top of the chest is also panelled but most of the painted decoration has worn away
The chest stands on bun shaped feet and has blacksmith made strap hinges, the lock does not work
The chest is made in heavy quality pine and is a desirable piece of free standing storage antique furniture, and it originates from 19th Century Europe
The chest is 48” long, 23” deep, 18” high
