Large Early Winchcombe Studio Pottery Slipware Jug
A handsome and early Winchcombe pottery slipware jug.
The voluminous body thrown in earthenware and covered in dark grey-green glaze with highly contrasting wavy yellow slip-trailed design.
Impressed marks for Sid Tustin (1913 - 2005) and Winchcombe Pottery to the foot.
Date c.1940.
This is a very striking jug of unusual proportions. The strap handle, broad pouring lip and bellied form make for an impressive piece, great for display.
