A Large Chinese Porcelain 'Famille Rose' 'Insects and Flowers' Canton Vase.

Sadly, this lovely vase is imperfect (with faults to the rim and neck, as shown) and so it might not be one for the purists out there. However the elegant shape, large size and the outright quality of the enamelled decoration are in its favour.

This is a worthy pot of restoration or it could be converted to make a highly attractive lamp base, or simply used as intended.

Standing some 37.5 cms tall.

Condition - with a chip to the lip and two cracks running from this area, as shown. A further, less significant crack to the neck. A little rubbing to the gilded areas.
