Large Antique Ship's Wheel, American, Cast Iron
This is a large antique ship's wheel. An American, cast iron and beech nautical helm, dating to the mid Victorian period, circa 1860.
Fascinating wheel from the time of the American Civil War period
Displays a desirable aged patina and in very good order
Cast iron rim presented with a bright cream hue, surrounding contrasted black spokes
Six attractive turned beech handles show fine grain interest
Gilt finished centre boss sits ahead of a hardwood boss with natural finish
Replete with a generously sized yoke arm for the larger wheelhouse
Maker's mark to face for H.N. Stone of Boston, Massachusetts
