Large Antique Mahogany Campaign Drum Table
A superb and very large antique mahogany military campaign drum table.
We believe it’s antique Regency from the 1820-30 period. It has an octagonal shaped top, with aged brass corner mounts, sunken aged brass military handles & aged brass capped feet on brass casters. The table top has a segmented tooled leather top, with a mahogany octagonal central section surrounding an octagonal aged brass central plaque.
The top section does rotate on the quadruple base, which has reeded legs & a reeded baluster central pedestal. The top section can come off for easy transportation & it’s held together behind the drawers by a strong wedge, that holds everything in place.
This whole table is made from solid mahogany & it’s very heavy & extremely well made. There are four working drawers with locks & four dummy drawers.
We obtained two of these antique tables from a famous London hotel. They were sitting in a basement & badly in need of restoration & a good polish.
This one is now back from the polishers & in excellent condition, with loads of character.
