A really stunning example of an 18th century oak coffer, comprising of a plank top and three carved panels to the front on high stile feet. The inside of the coffer has been lined with personal extracts and news print from the late 18th century. Including notification of the land taxes to the Tavistock estate in Cornwall. Makes fascinating reading. Includes the original candle box to the side. No key.
