John Jessop Harding.
"The Way to the Church" is the title of this Watercolour by the British artist John Jessop Harding. Born in 1831 the son of William Hardwick who came from Beverley in Yorkshire.
He first exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1860 and at the Suffolk Street and other Galleries, becoming an associate of The Royal Watercolour Society in 1882. Hardwick was a friend of the art critic John Ruskin. He moved to Thames Ditton in about 1880.
