Japanese Shibayama Dressing Screen / Room Divider
A beautiful antique Meiji period Japanese Shibiyama folding dressing screen or room divider dating from circa 1910. The two tall folding lacquered panels have inlaid bone detailing of traditional Japanese bird scenes on one side and a lovely red lacquered finish on the other reverse side. The panels fold up and stand on four small steel casters. This would be a real statement item in any home whatever your style. or could be a retail or restaurant centre piece. (chair not included).

Condition Report:
The panels have warped with age – but they are still sturdy and stand up well. There is an old (solid) mended split to top of the left panel. Wear and marks commensurate with age.
