Impressive 19th Cent Regency Giltwood Mirror Gillows %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
This is a beautiful, extremely decorative 19th century gilt mirror in the Adam’s style dating from around 1890. The fine mirror retains its original water gilded finish which has a stunning colour and beautiful antique patina. The condition is remarkable bearing in mind the delicacy of the design with all the gesso details intact. The design features a magnificent central urn with acanthus swags and feather scrolls as well as wonderful trailing harebells throughout the piece.

The mirror has its original mercury plate which gives good clear reflection and it has a magical antique sugaring to the the glass which absolutely twinkles and glistens in the light in a most appealing way.

This is in amazing original order and a very fine example from the Adam’s revival period.
Attributed to Gillows of Lancaster.
The mirror is an imposing size measuring 153 cms by 75 cms
