A large and imposing George IV period mahogany chest of drawers of very generous proportions. Of very good construction in solid mahogany with attractive mahogany veneers. The drawer linings are in pine (typical from of the period) suggesting that this chest stems from the north of England or more probably Scotland. There is a series of 5 graduated long, capacious drawers all fitted with wonderful and original brass handles. The drawers are flanked by a pair of bold reeded columns which terminate in good strong turned elongated bun feet. The shaped top of the chest is surrounded by a border of bobbin beeding. This wonderful and capacious chest is offered for sale in excellent original condition. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops and now offered for sale with a great colour and patina.
