Huge Midwinter Toadstools Charger by Jessie Tait
Toadstools is highly rare and highly collectable but this is the first time I have come across a 12 inch dia (31cm) charger/chop plate. Truly impressive and in great condition considering it's age..... with no crazing! There are some light utensil marks which only become visible when viewed close up and tilted to the light. The paint work on the toadstools is exceptional with no notable scratches. There is a tiny 1cm feint line at 1 o'clock in the photo which is not a hairline but under the glaze. Hard to spot unless you look very close up. There is a small brown scrape on the rim, a minute fleabite on the back and some general wear from moving across the table. All the points mentioned are away from the main focus of the plate. A very rare piece that looks amazing on display.
