A woodcut by Howard Phipps entitled 'Salisbury from Alderbury'.
Howard Phipps (b.1954) is a painter, printmaker and illustrator with a special interest in wood engraving. He studied painting at the Gloucestershire College of Art between 1971 and 1975 specialising in engraving since the late 1970's.
The actual image measures 12.5cm x 10cm and is contained within a mount measuring 32cm x 30cm. Pencil signed Artist's Proof, titled and signed and dated 1981 in pencil. The image is in good condition and free from any damage, foxing, staining etc. The mount has some brown staining and will require replacing but has the original label to reverse.
