Original Coloured ENGRAVING by Francesco Bartolozzi, Circa 1798 Under Glass in later 19th gilt wood frame ( not a copied print ).

An original stipple engraved portrait by Francesco Bartolozzi (1727-1815) of Hans Holbein, published by John Chamberlain in 1798.
This original stipple engraving also includes much work done with the rocker and other techniques.
Bartolozzi was the portrait engraver par excellence in late 18th century London. To the lower-left is engraved "From the Original Drawing by Hans Holbein", so Bartolozzi had copied a self-portrait - possibly the small gouache of Holbein now in the Wallace Collection.

Condition:
A little edge toning (left side above shoulder ) commensurate with age and very faint water marks lower border around text, otherwise in lovely order, sharpe, no fading, creases or marks.Looks great for circa 1798 dateline.

Returns are accepted within 14 days of receipt if the item is found to have been misdescribed and the purchaser may be liable for the return costs subject to reasons for return.
Returns authorisation should be requested by sending an e-mail before posting.
Once we receive the item in good order as supplied not withstanding notified transit damage, we will return payment using the same payment method.
