'Silent Waters On The Avon' by Henry H. Parker (British, 1858-1930). Oil on canvas. Signed bottom left. Please see below for provenance.

This stunning work depicts cattle grazing and drinking from the River Avon with a vast landscape to the background, the tree line and skies above which are reflected in the River Avon to the foreground.

The work is housed in a titled gilt frame. Both the canvas and frame remain in a very good condition throughout.

The format of the 'C. Roberson & Co' canvas supplier stamp verso dates between 1913-37 the work is circa this period thus.

Provenance:

- Label for Harrods Picture Department, Knightsbridge verso.

- Sotheby's, London, 'Victorian Pictures', November 11 1998, Lot 225. Listed as confirmed work by Henry H. Parker.
