H & R Daniel Coffee Cup & Saucer Fancy Birds 4237
A pretty porcelain coffee cup and saucer by Henry & Richard Daniel in the Shrewsbury shape with ornate shaped rim with moulded detailing. Decorated in pattern number 4237 with small vignettes of brightly coloured "fancy birds" perched in the frondy branches of a tree painted in puce enamel with an ochre yellow and smoky blue background. Ornate gilt grape vines sit between the scenes and careful gilt decoration to the rims, handle and outside of the cup. The saucer marked with pattern number 4237, c.1825.
The saucer measures 14cm (5 1/2") wide and 2.5cm (1") high. The coffee cup measures 9cm (3 1/2") rim to rim and 7.3cm (2 7/8") high.
In excellent condition with no damage or repair. Minimal handling wear, just the tiniest bit to the gilt circle in the centre of the saucer. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
