A very pretty George III silver wirework cream pail or small sugar basket with a vertical frame adorned with a scrolling grape vine applied with leaves, grapes and birds in flight. Rope twist edge to the rim and foot and a cast rope effect swing hinged handle. Fitted with a blue glass liner. Unmarked it has been tested as silver for completeness. Dating to c.1760-1770, probably London.

It measures 10.5cm (4 1/8") high with the handle up, 6.3cm (2 1/2") to the rim and 8cm (3 1/8") wide.

Condition is excellent with no damage, losses or repairs. Minor handling wear. The liner appears to be a bespoke replacement, with clear age and fitting perfectly. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
