This is a very elegant seat. It is Edwardian, dating to around 1910. The quality is excellent. It is made in solid mahogany. Look at the curve to the back, the shape to the arms and legs. The mahogany is lined in boxwood. It has fretwork splats and these are inlaid with floriate designs. It is very opulent.

The condition is wonderful. No damage or worm. Joints solid. The mahogany glows and the inlay is very clean and crisp contrasting with the wood. The sofa has been recovered and the upholstery is immaculate.

This is a beautiful seat either for a window or a bedroom or as an occasional chair against a wall in a principal room furnished in antiques. It is particularly fine and elegant.
