Circa 1860, an unusual set of Georgian style A frame mahogany library steps. There are 4 steps on each side which are hinged in the centre, each of the treads has a recess and a leather insert which is tooled and gilded. The steps fold up, and are freestanding open or closed. The mortice joint can be seen at the side and the hinge is flush. This a wonderful set of library steps.
