Georgian Cumbrian Antique Painted Pine Cupboard.
A fabulously proportioned, English antique food cupboard/press still in the original Georgian antique paint finish.
Originally from the Cumbria region in North ern England, this lovely antique food cupboard/press dates from around 1790-1800.
The top section, which lifts off, has a super out turned cornice, the two paneled doors open to show a shelved storage area, the doors do have the original and working locks and keys.The painted pine five drawer chest has a 'fish bellied' apron and bracket feet.
All five, graduated drawers are pine lined with fine dovetails, they all sport turned knob bun handles.
The drawers all run smoothly.
In very tidy and original condition throughout, suitable for everyday use.
Originally used as a food cupboard, but this Georgian antique press cupboard would be equally as useful in a bedroom, bathroom or hallway.
Now in Miles Griffiths Antiques showroom, in Clitheroe, Lancashire.
