This is the most beautiful Georgian oak housekeeper’s cupboard I have seen. It is a gorgeous colour, English oak with a lovely honey glow. The cupboard has plentiful storage houses in shelved cupboards and drawers. The base has a central bank of three good sized drawers with darker wooden knobs and neat brass escutcheons. Flanking these on either side is a tall narrow cupboard. These have matching knobs and escutcheons and a working key. Inside each one there are two fixed shelves. The insides of the cupboards have their original flat finish green paint. This shows wear at the front so you can see the oak under, a wonderful sign of its age and history. The top of the cupboard has a single central cupboard positioned over the bank of drawers in the base. This has double doors and shows two fixed shelves inside with paint to match the cupboards below. At either side of the central cupboard there is a further cupboard, positioned over the cupboards in the base. These two cupboards also have two fixed shelves and the same paint inside. On the outside all the cupboards have matching darker wooden knobs, small brass escutcheons and working keys. The cupboard doors are particularly nice in that they have a deep cupids bow at the top of the panelled doors. They look gorgeous. The cupboard is finished with a lovely shaped cornice at the top and stands on tulip feet at the bottom. It is a striking piece.
The cupboard is in good order. It stands well and level and has no wobbles. The doors are well attached and open and close as they should. The keys are present and the locks work. The drawers all slide as they should and the knobs are well attached. The wood is in good order and the colour is joyous. The cupboard separates into 3 for moving, the base, the top section and the cornice.

The cupboard measures 6 foot wide. I haven’t as yet measured the rest so if you need to know please remind me to do it.
