Lovely little example of the classic late Georgian oak writing bureau c.1800. A little smaller than many we see being just 34″ wide. Open the fall front to reveal a good sized desk surface and fitted interior of small oak lined drawers and pigeon holes with four small hidden compartments. Over three long drawers of graduated depth with original brass swan handles and escutcheon plates. Raised on bracket feet front and rear. Solid oak top, sides, drawer fronts and sides. The lock is a later replacement and though a key is supplied please note it does not catch to lock the fall in place. Otherwise very good condition with excellent colour and patina.
