Georgian Oak Bureau Bookcase Desk Writing Table
Antique Georgian and later oak bureau bookcase desk writing table.
This is a lovely item, that is full of age, charm and character.
Solid with no loose joints and all of the oak lined drawers slide freely.
Great age and patina (not over restored).
Sought after drop-well and loads of secret compartments.
Later handles etc., but all are in keeping and look right.
Some historic woodworm holes (the norm for period oak), believed extinct, that we have treated for good measure.
Overall maximum dimensions 98cmW x 53cmD x 191cmH (101cmH bureau and 90cmH bookcase) x 76cmH writing surface.
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, wear, imperfections, repairs and alterations, as is always the way and to be expected with genuine antique furniture. No keys and the locks are untested. There are some stains inside the drawers as is to be expected. One small pigeon hole drawer may be missing. This item does not have a great antique value because of the many alterations it has had, but it has got to be one of the most charming pieces we have ever had and worth every penny.
Please note that this item is large and heavy. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be maneuvered into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide 1 strong able bodied person for our driver to assist with carrying.
Stock No. 3388.
