Georgian New Hall Bat Print Landscape Coffee Can
New Hall black bat printed porcelain coffee can, c.1805, slightly tapered with an oval ring handle. The main scene is of a rural landscape with an ancient tower and smaller buildings in the background with a girl standing to the fore holding a bundle of firewood under her arm. The scene is framed by trees either side and a fence running along the front. The other scene is simpler, of a small cottage set in the country. Black rim and band around the foot and inside the rim and graduated dots down the handle finishing with a black V at the terminal. Unmarked.
It measures 6.3cm (2 7/16") high, 6.7cm (2 1/8") rim to rim and 8.5cm (3 3/8") rim to handle. Condition is good. There is a short tight hairline in the glaze to the left of the handle amongst the tree, I wasn't able to get it to show in a photograph on the outside. Otherwise no damage or restoration and surface wear is light. The print is a little lighter in a few small areas. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
Price includes UK shipping. Worldwide shipping is also available, please ask for a cost.
