Georgian Minton Porcelain Chocolate Cup 780 c.1815
A pretty Minton porcelain twin handled chocolate / caudle cup elaborately decorated in the very striking pattern number 780. AN underglaze mazarine blue ground with two large cloud shaped reserves, one with a pink wash background and the other in pale lemon, the lower section shaded in gilt in a seashell type shape and above filled with very well painted garden flowers. The blue ground is over gilded with a busy leafing vine and unusual stylised shell type devices around the handle terminals. Further gilt decoration around the foot, to the handles and the rim. Factory mark to the base and the pattern number, c.1815.
It measures 8.3cm (3 1/4") high and 8.3cm (3 1/4") rim to rim.
Condition: one of the handles has been repaired and a small chip to the rim just to the right of this has been filled and touched in. Minor handling wear to the gilt on the rim, foot and good handle more gilt loss to the repaired handle. No other issues and it displays well. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
