handsome georgian mahogany linen press, the flared cornice with inlay detail to the front, over panelled doors with brass edge and decorative box wood stringing and inlaid bone roundels to the corners opening to reveal interior converted for more practical use with slide out patented hangers by john watt of Sheffield (leading steel manufacturer in the 1800's), three inlaid long graduating drawers below with ornate brass ring handles and ebony inlaid lozenge shaped lock escutcheons, shaped apron and standing on splayed bracket feet.
minor shrinkage splits to the side and marks and scuffs commensurate with age and use this lovely press is still a most attractive yet practical piece of antique furniture in sound condition.
