A handsome antique Georgian mahogany commode dating from circa 1820 which is now a lift-top cabinet. In beautifully figured and inlaid mahogany it has six brass drop handles to the front and two brass carry handles to the sides. It stands on shaped bracket feet. This piece would have originally started life as a commode / chamber pot cupboard. The upper half lifts and the doors open to reveal storage space inside, ideal as a shoe cabinet or for storage in a hall or bedroom.
