Georgian Mahogany Architect’s or Reading Table
A charming Georgian mahogany architect’s or reading table, featuring a sloping hinged fall-front top opening to reveal a fitted interior with divided compartments for papers, correspondence or writing materials.
The piece stands on elegant square tapering legs with stretcher supports and retains a single long drawer fitted with turned wooden knobs. Constructed in richly figured mahogany with lovely deep colour and patina throughout, this highly practical antique would work beautifully as a lamp table, occasional table, bedside cabinet or compact writing desk.
A wonderfully understated and useful late Georgian piece with excellent period character.
