Georgian 19C bureau desk writing table bookcase
Antique quality Georgian (or possibly a little later)19C bureau bookcase.
We have a key to fit the glazed doors only (the other locks are untested) and the drawers all slide freely.
Heavy and solid, with no loose joints and no signs of woodworm.
Quality mahogany veneered trinket drawers.
A very clean example with an attractive Greek key cornice.
4 shelves (3 adjustable).
Lovely shape, colour and patina....quite unusual and rare, with a great look.
Maximum overall dimensions 1060mmW (at cornice) x 500mmD x 2255mmH (splits into 3 parts for transport 1110mmH base, 1080mmH top, 105mmH cornice).
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, distortion, imperfections, scratches, chips, repairs and alterations, as is always the way with antique furniture and generally desirable. Later brass handles and blue paper linings to drawers (very old, stained and worn). Ink stains as is usual. The top half may have been constructed in Victorian times to sit on the earlier bureau...this is quite common and does not necessarily constitute a marriage.
Please note that this item is large and heavy. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be maneuvered into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide 1 strong able bodied person for our driver to assist with carrying.
