George Jones Majolica Apple Blossom Cheese Bell
A gorgeous large majolica cheese bell on stand by George Jones. Set on a bright turquoise ground overlaid with apple blossom flowers and an apple tree branch to form the handle. There is a wide band of moulded woven basket effect which is matched also around the edge of the stand. The base marked with the impressed factory mark and Victorian registration mark for the year 1873. It has the partial model number 80 in black and the inside of the bell has the model number 3240 80.
It measures 32cm (12 1/3") high. The bell measures 22.5cm (9 7/8") wide and the stand is 28.5cm (11 1/4") wide.
Condition is excellent there is a very small chip to the the inner raised flange on the stand but otherwise there is no damage or restoration and very light surface wear. There is a firing line within the foot of the stand. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
