George Jones Majolica Apple Blossom Cheese Bell
Lovely majolica cheese keep and stand by George Jones with a moulded apple blossom design set against a turquoise ground, c.1870. The lower half has a woven basket effect, matched also around the edge of the stand. The handle is formed as a split branch bound in the centre. The stand has the factory stamp and painted model number 3340 111.
It measures 26.5cm (10 1/2") high assembled. The stand is 28.5cm (11 1/4") wide and 4cm (1 1/2") high and the dome measures 23cm (9") wide and 23cm (9") high.
Condition is very good: there is a fine 2cm hairline to the rim of the cover but no other damage and no restoration. Some wear to the glaze on the high points of some of the flowers and some very small glaze losses to the rims on the stand (hidden under the cover). The stand has some light discolouration to the top and the inside of the bell is crazed again with a few small patches of light discoloration. Surface wear is light and appropriate for age and use. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
Price includes UK shipping. Worldwide shipping is also available, please ask for a cost.
We wish to ensure all our customers are happy with their purchases and offer a full no quibble return policy for all items returned within 14 days. We ask that returns are notified within 7 days where possible. Return postage is the buyer's responsibility in terms of cost and safeguarding the item through transit.
