George IV Mahogany Writing Table Table Writing Desk %%alt5%%
A handsome and superb quality George IV period writing table, the top having a genuine cow hide green leather inset scriber, rounded corners, and a thumbnail mould to the edge, above an arrangement of a single drawer featuring fine hand-cut dovetail joints and turned knob handles to the front and a matching dummy drawer to the rear, raised on elegant turned tapering legs with original brass castors. Original brass lock stamped ‘GR’.

Width 36” (91cm) Depth 23” (58cm) Height 29” (74cm)

Condition and Details of Restoration
This item is in original structural condition and is completely sound. The polish has been revived and the inset leather scriber replaced, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. As ever with antique furniture of this age there are some old marks underneath the polish, but in this instance all extremely minor in our opinion, the photographs are representative.
